TOKYO (TR) – The side work keeps on coming for adult video (AV) actress Mana Sakura.
In September, Sakura began blogging for Toyota. Three months later, her likeness appeared in 3D software for the Oculus Rift headset.
The latest venture by the 21-year-old is “When I Was 18, I Found My Vocation,” a 143-page collection of essays released by publisher Takarajimasha on Thursday that offers her views on why she entered the profession and insights into the industry itself, such as the salary of an actress and acting techniques.
“Although the AV industry carries something of a dark image, my views are that it is a mainstream. If I were pressed for a description, I’d say it is a very healthy environment,” said Sakura on her blog in discussing the book.
The actress entered the industry in 2012. Soon after her debut AV film “Mana Sakura: AV Debut” hit the market users on Twitter rightly fingered her as a student enrolled at a technical junior college. At the Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards the following year, she was crowned Best New Actress.
Her writing career appears to be off to a good start. Following its release, “When I Was 18, I Found My Vocation” quickly climbed to the top of the Amazon.co.jp chart under the theatrical entertainment category.
Her fans, however, may be slightly disappointed with one aspect of the book.
“Since this is a collection of essays, there are no photos of sex,” Sakura wrote. “So I’d be happy if everyone, even women, were to give it a look.”
