NAGOYA (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police on Friday announced that an organized crime boss was injured during his arrest for possession of stimulant drugs, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 13).

At around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, officers entered the second floor of an apartment and arrested Kazuhara Uchita, a 46-year-old upper-level executive of the Kodo-kai, which is an affiliate group of the Yamaguchi-gumi, for allegedly possessing 0.34 grams of stimulant drugs with the intent to sell. Officers also seized a measuring scale and other drug-related items.

Uchita, who was inside a residence shared by two sisters, has reportedly denied the allegations. “I have no such memory,” the suspect is quoted by police.

During the arrest, Uchita attempted to flee by jumping out the window. He suffered a broken foot and was transported to a local hospital.
