Boxer turned AV star, yakuza arrested for threats in Shinjuku

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Thursday announced the arrest of former professional boxer Eugenio Gomez and an organized crime member for threatening the manager of a company at his office in Shinjuku Ward, reports Sports Hochi (June 13).

On May 27, Gomez, a 42-year-old American, Shin Kato, a member of the Sumiyoshi-kai, 58, and one other male suspect are alleged participated in threatening to cut off the finger of the employee, 36, if he did not provide a promissory note.

Gomez has reportedly denied the allegations.

Gomez began his boxing career in 1999. As a featherweight fighter, he achieved a record seven straight knockouts in the first round.

In 2009, Gomez retired from boxing with three featherweight titles to his credit. Four years later, he began starring in adult video films on the Plum label, which specializes in amateur actresses.
