TOKYO (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police on Friday arrested an upper member of the Yamaguchi-gumi organized crime group for operating an adult-entertainment club located in Kawagoe that offered sexual services in violation of the Anti-Prostitution Law, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 12).

Officers took Toshiaki Nakai, 62, the manager of club Yasa, located in Sugawaramachi, for employing two women to offer prostitution services to four male customers in March and April of this year.

The suspect has reportedly denied the allegations.

In one month, Yasa collects more than one million yen in revenue. Investigators are now attempting to determine if the club was being used a source of revenue for the Yamaguchi-gumi.

Nakai’s common-law wife, who also manages Yasa, is currently under prosecution for the same charges.
