TOKYO (TR) – Sex-service tip sheet Tokyo Manzoku News will offer guidance through Tokyo’s adult entertainment areas for the final time next month, announced the owner of the title.
The 16-year-old publication, under the umbrella of publishing house Creators Company Connection, offers pricing and location assistance for clientele interested in fuzoku (sex-related) clubs and bars within Tokyo’s larger nightlife quarters, including Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya.
The final issue of the 32-page sheet will hit the stands on May 13. The company cited developments in the media business as the reason for the termination.
“Print and Web media are undergoing massive changes,” said a statement issued by the company. “In order to continue to offer the most up-to-date content, the Manzoku Web site will now be the focus.”
Creators Company Connection will continue to offer the portable Poke Para Tokyo guide and its series of monthly Manzoku city publications.
In an ongoing monthly event with club Loft Plus One in Shinjuku Ward’s Kabukicho entertainment district, a talk show held last Thursday included interviews with 15 gals employed at a selection of the clubs, specializing in everything from SM to hoteru herusu (out-call hotel services), that are routinely featured in the paper.
After discussing their private sex lives and work challenges, the women led janken competitions to distribute club discount coupons to members of the assembled male audience.
Copies of back issues of Tokyo Manzoku News, including the inaugural paper, dating back to April, 1994, were put on display during the event.
In its beginnings, the publication was a weekly but most recently it has been released on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Readers should not expect any changes regarding quality following the transition, the company said.
“We will still offer highly detailed fuzoku content following our shift in focus to the Web,” added the company in the statement.
