TOKYO (TR) – Actress Kumiko Fujiyoshi last week denied a report in a weekly tabloid that claims she is engaged in an extra-marital affair with a television producer, reports Sports Hochi (Dec. 15).

Upon her arrival at Haneda Airport on flight from Fukuoka City on Thursday night, Fujiyoshi, 56, who is married to popular actor and former singer Yosuke Tagawa, offered the denial before an assembled press corps of about 50 persons.

“I would like to apologize to everyone for any trouble I may have caused due to my rash behavior,” she said through tears and in a feeble voice. She also held a bow for 10 seconds.

The report, which appeared in Shukan Bunshun (Dec. 21), says that the 50-year-old producer at Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, who is also married, provided her with a key to his apartment. “It was a place for me to work,” Fujiyoshi claimed.

Regarding a visit to a hotel with the producer, she said, “My back was stiff.” She also said that she is not in a relationship with the producer.

When asked about her husband, she said, “I cannot live without him,” she said, wiping away more tears. “I want to be a wife who can live up to providing a feeling of trust.”

Fujiyoshi has appeared in a number of movies, including “Samurai Rock” in 2015. Togawa is a co-host of the “Wide na Show” on Fuji Television Network on Sundays.

Earlier that day, Tagawa said that he was not going to seek a divorce. “I trust her,” the actor said during an interview.
