TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a male bus driver for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old girl, a crime he committed with the aid of chewing gum, reports Fuji News Network (Apr. 24) (Apr. 24).

In June of last year, Yuichi Kamata, 39, a driver for Keio Dentetsu Bus, approached the victim, a fifth-grade, on a road in Hachioji City and asked, “Which city is this?” He also stuck a piece of chewing gum to her pants. After pointing out the gum, the suspect allegedly fondled her chest and buttocks.

Kamata, who has been charged with indecent assault, admits to the allegations. He told police he has committed the same crime over 20 times. Police are aware of 26 similar cases that have taken place since 2006.

“We are still confirming the facts of the case, but we will cooperate with the investigation,” a representative of Keio Dentetsu Bus is quoted by NHK (Apr. 24).
