TOKYO (TR) – A play featuring idols in revealing costumes opened at Shinagawa Prince Hotel on Friday — and it leaves little to the imagination, reports GirlsNews (Mar. 31).

Described as a tale filled with laughter and emotion, “Ueno Panda Island Bikinis” features seven bikini-clad women stranded on an island who attempt to escape as they deal with each other’s different personalities.

The production, running until April 2 at the hotel’s Club eX, is directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi, known for such live-action adaptations as “20th Century Boys” and “Trick The Movie: Last Stage.”

“There’s bikinis, and there’s boobs. I want everyone to see the power of the women,” Tsutsumi said. “It made me glad that I have lived for as long as I have. To put it simply: You’ve got nothing to lose by watching this production.”

The performers in the production are a part of an idol group under the same name. The group is expected to release its first album in the near future.
