OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are investigating what is believed to have been a murder-suicide following the discovery of the bodies of a girl, 15, and her boyfriend, 21, inside an apartment in Nishinari Ward, reports TV Asahi (Mar. 29).

At around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the girl’s mother, 39, alerted police after she found her daughter, a third-year middle school student, collapsed and bleeding with two knives protruding from her chest inside a room of the residence, located in the Tengachaya area.

Her boyfriend, a Vietnamese national, was discovered collapsed with a belt around his neck inside the same room.

After the arrival of police, both persons were transported to a nearby hospital where they were confirmed dead.

The girl and her boyfriend shared the residence with her parents.

With the front door locked at the time of the discovery, police suspect that the man stabbed the girl to death before taking his own life via hanging.
