KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 55-year-old woman for allegedly clubbing her husband during a dispute inside the residence they shared in Yokosuka City. He was later confirmed dead at a hospital, reports TBS News (Mar. 24).

Between 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 1:00 a.m. the following morning, Orie Sakamoto allegedly used a blunt weapon to beat her husband, Toshio, who is also 55, in the head.

At around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sakamoto alerted emergency services after she found her husband not moving. Paramedics arriving at the scene found Toshio unconscious and bleeding from his head, according to TV Asahi (Mar. 24). He was confirmed dead shortly after arrival at a hospital.

Orie, who has been charged with assault resulting in injury, admits to the allegations, telling police that she “had gotten into a fight” with her husband.
