TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are searching for a man accused of groping a woman who fled by jumping onto railway tracks at JR Ochanomizu Station in Chiyoda Ward, reports TBS News (Mar. 13).

At around 1 p.m. on Monday, the man allegedly fondled the lower body of the woman, 27, inside a carriage of the Sobu Line as it traveled between Akihabara and Ochanomizu stations. Upon the train’s arrival at Ochanomizu, the woman yelled at the man, who then fled the scene by jumping onto the tracks.

The woman later told station personnel about the incident. They then informed police.

The Kanda Police Station is now seeking the whereabouts of the man, who was last seen heading towards Akihabara Station along the railway tracks. Believed to be aged in his 30s or 40s, the suspect was dressed entirely in black.

According to JR East, the incident caused delays to 32 trains on the Chuo and Sobu lines that extended for 30 minutes
