TOKYO (TR) – Police are hunting for a male suspect in connection with two armed robberies of taxi drivers, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 11).

The suspect accused a taxi driver of taking the wrong turn and threatened him with a knife, stealing a file containing taxi vouchers before fleeing without paying the 1,290 yen fare at around 11:20 p.m. in Shinagawa Ward on Friday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police believe the same suspect also prodded another taxi driver with a knife and stole 90,000 yen before fleeing about 1.5 hours earlier in Shibuya Ward.

In his 20s to 30s, the suspect was last seen wearing a black knitted hat and black clothing, police said.
