SAITAMA (TR) – A teenager forced a middle school in Saitama City to close down after leaving two boxes with notes saying “will explode if opened,” police said on Saturday.

The 15-year-old male suspect in third-grade middle school was arrested on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business by leaving the Styrofoam boxes at the school gates and in the parking lot, TV Asahi reports (Dec. 10).

A bomb squad was deployed only to discover clothing inside the boxes, police said.

The suspect has admitted to the charges, quoted by police as saying he “thought it’d be great if it caused panic.”
