Kanagawa cops: Nude corpse found floating in river that of missing Yokokhama boy

KANAGAWA (TR) – Investigative sources with the Kanagawa Prefectural Police revealed on Wednesday that a corpse found floating in a river in Kawasaki City earlier this month is that of a missing boy, reports Jiji Press (Dec. 8).

At around 5:30 p.m. on December 2, police were tipped off about “a person floating in the Tama River” about two meters from shore in the Noborito area of Tama Ward.

Police have identified the body as that of an 18-year-old boy from Yokohama. The results of an autopsy revealed the boy died due to drowning.

When his body was found it was fully nude and floating face-up.There were no signs of any external wounds.

The boy had gone missing in November. On the same day that his body was discovered, his mother reported to the Seya Police Station in Yokohama that his whereabouts were unknown.

According to TV Asahi (Dec. 8), police are treating the case as the result of foul play.
