OAHU, Hawaii (TR) – Three students were killed after their car crashed into a wall and a tree, local authorities said on Tuesday.

Local identified two of the three victims, Takumi Yamamoto, 19, and Norihito Shigeta, 20, all students of a local university, who were riding in a two-seater convertible when they crashed on a highway late at night on Monday local time, TBS News reports (Nov. 30).

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The students likely lost control and crashed from speeding, authorities said, ruling out alcohol as a contributing factor of the crash, TBS News quoted local media as saying.
