TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are planning to again arrest musician Aska, 58, for the use of stimulant drugs, investigative sources revealed on Monday, reports TBS News (Nov. 28).

At around 7 p.m. on Friday, Aska, who is on parole for drug violations, placed an incoherent call to police from his residence in Meguro Ward. “I had illicit photographs taken of me. I will talk when a policeman comes,” he reportedly said.

A urine sample subsequently taken from the musician, whose real name is Shigeaki Miyazaki, tested positive for kakuseizai, or stimulant drugs. A warrant for his arrest is expected to be issued under the Stimulants Control Law.

Aska offered a denial on his blog, claiming it was “a mistake” and that “there was no problem.”

In September of 2014, the Tokyo District Court handed Aska, 57, whose real name is Shigeaki Miyazaki, a suspended three-year prison sentence for possession and use of stimulant drugs. He had been arrested in May of that year.
