FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have arrested a 27-year-old male in a stabbing incident at a convenience store in Nakama City early Monday left one person injured, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 28).

At around 2:00 a.m., Eiji Ide allegedly entered an outlet of 7-Eleven, located in the Jokamachi area, and threatened a male cashier, 56, with a knife. “Hand over cash,” Ide allegedly demanded.

After a scuffle broke out, Ide stabbed the cashier in the back and arm.

Officers on patrol outside the store subsequently arrested Ide on suspicion of robbery resulting in injury. He has admitted to the allegations.

The cashier was conscious as he was taken to a nearby hospital. Another male staff member in his 20s was not injured in the incident, police said.
