TOKYO (TR) – Police are hunting for a knife-wielding man who stole some 15,000 yen from a convenience store in Edogawa Ward on Sunday morning, TBS News reports (November 27).

At around 5:30 a.m., the man entered the convenience store and threatened a 26-year-old male shop clerk with a knife before snatching 15,000 yen from a cash register and fleeing in Nakasakasai, police said.

The shop clerk wasn’t injured in what an investigation is treating as a case of robbery, police said.

The roughly 170-centimeter suspect is in his 30s or 40s and was last seen wearing a blue top with grey heavy duty-like pants.
