TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly stalking a first-year female middle school student for around seven months, reports Fuji News Network (Nov. 18).
In June, Keisuke Kida, a resident of Suginami Ward, allegedly inserted a letter into the bag of the girl, 12, that said he “had a fondness” for her. The content of the letter also requested her contact address.
Between August and November, the suspect allegedly tailed her inside train cars and at stations on four occasions.
Kida, who has been charged with violating the Anti-Stalking Law, admits to the allegations. “I started following her around in April,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to TBS News (Nov. 18).
Police are investigating whether Kida was involved in the stalking of other minors.
