TOKYO (TR) – A man beat his drunk superior who later died from his injuries to his face in Kita Ward, police said on Sunday.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Makoto Saito, 44, for using his fists to beat the face of his superior in his 50s during a work-related altercation at their accommodation at around 2:30 p.m., TBS News reports (Nov. 13).

The superior died of his injuries after he was rushed to a hospital, police said.

Saito, who has been charged with bodily injury resulting in death, admits to the charges, telling police he “punched him because he grabbed me during an argument.”

Saito and his superior were sharing a room at a minshuku, which is a private-owned bed and breakfast, for work when the superior came home drunk and they got into an altercation, Fuji News Network quoted police as saying.
