Osaka cops: Man injures woman, child in bat-swinging rampage

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police restrained a man who went on a bat-swinging rampage at a station here on Wednesday, injuring a woman and a child.

Authorities received an emergency call reporting that “someone is swinging a bat around and we’ve got some injured here” at JR Tennoji Station in Tennoji Ward, at around 5:30 p.m., TV Asahi reports (November 2).

The 41-year-old man was handed over to police custody and the injured woman and 6-year-old child were brought to a hospital, police said.
