Saitama cops: Man plunged to death from building in likely suicide

SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police suspect that a man found dead at an apartment building in Shiki City on Tuesday committed suicide by jumping from the structure, reports the Saitama Shimbun (Nov. 1).

At approximately 6:05 a.m., a male office worker, 40, alerted emergency services about a man lying face-down outside the eight-floor building, located in the Saiwaicho area.

Officers from the Shiki Police Station arriving at the building found the man in front of a first-floor bicycle storage area. He had severe injuries throughout his body. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Attired in gray cargo shorts, black sweatshirt with a white undershirt and athletic shoes, the man, believed to be aged between 40 and 70, stood approximately 160 centimeters in height. He had a key to an apartment inside one of his pockets.
