CHIBA (TR) – Police have arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing and injuring three people with a knife in Urayasu City, TV Asahi reported on Tuesday.

Police officers surrounded Hiromi Uryu, 32, and arrested her on suspicion of attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed three people one after another at around 4:30 p.m. on a road in the Kairaku area.

The victims, a 51-year-old man and two women, aged 23 and 28, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a hospital.

A witness told Fuji News Network that “it all started when I asked one of the victims lying on the ground if they were OK.”

“Then they pointed and said ‘I was just stabbed by that person,'” the witness said. “I was like, ‘What? That person just seems like a really normal woman’ and they agreed. I took a closer look and realized she was holding something shiny in her hand.”

Uryu was standing with a knife near a bus stop about 1.6 kilometers from JR Shin-Urayasu Station, the witness said.

“She was seriously just standing there, staring into space,” the witness said. “Holding a knife, and staring at nothing. It was a big-ish one, too.”

The incident took place in front of the home of Uryu, who was captured on footage wandering around the premesis.
