TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have raided a pair of soapland bathhouses in Taito Ward employing adult video (AV) actresses on charges of prostitution, reports Nippon News Network (Oct. 14).

Last month, Toyosaku Nagumo, the 57-year-old manager of soapland bathhouses Latin Quarter and Haute Couture, both located in the Yoshiwara area of Taito Ward, is alleged to have employed actresses as attendants while knowing they were providing full sex to customers in private rooms — a violation of the Anti-Prostitution Law.

Nagumo admits to the allegations. Police also arrested 13 other male employees on the same charges.

According to investigators, the businesses used their web sites to attract customers by posting the names of actresses, their photographs and titles of their films were posted on the sites.

Over the past seven years, the businesses have collected more than one billion yen, according to the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 14).

Nagumo also serves as board chairman for a non-profit organization.
