TOKYO (TR) – Following the swindling of an elderly woman out of more than five million yen, Tokyo Metropolitan Police are seeking the help of the public in locating a man suspected in the crime, reports Nippon News Network (Oct. 11).

On Tuesday, police released a video clip showing the man, who is sought in connection with the swindling a 79-year-old woman living in Kita Ward in August.

While posing as a police officer, the suspect told the woman that her “bank card needed to be exchanged since it had been used in a fraud.” After the woman handed over two cards, the man withdrew of 5.13 million yen in cash from her accounts.

In the clip, the man, with short black hair, is seen wearing a white shirt and glasses. Standing approximately 175 centimeters in height, he is believed to be in his 40s.
