GUNMA (TR) – Police are rushing to identify a female body that was found on Tuesday on a mountain here where a mother and her 8-year-old boy went missing on Monday.

Police are tracing the footsteps of the pair from Kanagawa Prefecture who went missing after they ventured into the 1,400-meter Mt. Arafune, TBS News reports (September 27).

The body of the woman was found stuck on a tree below a cliff while the boy’s whereabouts remains unknown, police said.

The woman in her 30s was last seen wearing a t-shirt and beige pants, police said.
