NISHI-TOKYO (TR) – A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly slitting his female neighbor’s throat with a knife because she complained he was being too noisy.

Police arrested Dai Hiraoka, 30, on suspicion of murder for allegedly using a knife to slash the throat of his 79-year-old neighbor Kazuyo Tada in her apartment in Nishi-tokyo, TBS News reports (September 18).

“There was trouble with Tada leading up to the incident,” Hiraoka told police. “I took a knife from my room and went over and killed her.”

“I got yelled at, which made me snap,” TV Asahi quoted Hiraoka as saying.

Hiraoka called investigators and admitted killing Tada, police said.

Hiraoka told TV Asahi that he never so much as spoke to her before, and claimed he used a knife to slash her throat.
