VANCOUVER, CANADA (TR) – The Missing Persons Unit of the Vancouver Police Department is searching for a 30-year-old female Japanese exchange student who has been missing since last week, the department said in a release on Tuesday.

Natsumi Kogawa, a native of Aomori Prefecture who has been studying English in Vancouver since May, was last seen in the downtown part of the city on September 7. Friends were last able to contact her via the smartphone application Line on the following day at around 11:20 a.m.
