CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police are questioning a 25-year-old woman after a dismembered corpse, likely belonging to her younger brother, was found in a residence in the town of Shisui, reports Nippon News Network (Sept. 13).

At around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, police received a tip from a person who claimed that he “had not been able to reach a classmate since the end of last month.”

Several hours later, officers arriving at his residence, located in the Inba area, found a head and a severed leg inside separate plastic bags in a corner of the living room. The lower part of the head was missing; the leg had been cut at the thigh.

Other body parts were subsequently found in another room.

According to the Asahi Shimbun (Sept. 13), the approximate age and gender of the body are unknown.

The woman, who shares the residence with her brother, 21, is being questioned on suspicion of abandoning a corpse.
