OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly killing his father inside the residence they share in Osaka’s Ikuno Ward, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sept. 10).

On Friday morning, Shoko Kin, a Korean national, allegedly strangled his father, 58-year-old Shogyoku, and beat him in the face inside the residence, located in the Katsuyamakita area.

Shogyoku’s body was found lying face-down in a second-floor closet of the residence by the suspect’s younger brother, who was visiting the residence, at around 4:50 p.m. that same day. Soon after, he telephoned police to report the discovery and that “my older brother has fled.”

Later that evening, police apprehended Kin in Osaka. He was charged with murder on Saturday. “For several days, he screamed about my way of living,” the suspect is quoted by police. “Had I left things as they were I would have been killed so I killed him.”
