TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested five persons, including the boss of an organized crime group, for allegedly assaulting a security guard at a club, reports TV Asahi (Sept. 7).

In July, Hiroshi Takahashi, a 37-year-old boss in the Yamaguchi-gumi, and four other persons allegedly beat a security guard, 51, at the club, located in the Azab Juban area, over a five minute period after the gangster was denied entry over the presence of a tattoo.

The security guard suffered injuries that required one month to heal.

All five suspects, who have been charged with assault, have declined to comment on the charges.

Takahashi and the other suspects visited the club, which prohibits entry to persons with irezumi tattoos that are often sported by underworld figures, to celebrate his 37th birthday.
