TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested 69-year-old woman for allegedly killing her husband inside the apartment they share in Katsushika Ward, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sept. 6).

At around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, the daughter of Takashiro Fukayama, 75, telephoned emergency services to report that her father was lying “motionless” inside the residence, located in the Nishi Shin-Koiwa area.

Officers from the Katsushika Police Station arriving at the residence found the man collapsed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

An examination of Fukayama’s body revealed markings around his neck consistent with strangulation.

On Tuesday, police arrested his wife, Sui, on murder charges. She admits to the charges, telling police that she got into a quarrel with her husband prior to the incident.
