Nagasaki cops cofirm identity of decayed corpse found in home

NAGASAKI (TR) – Nagasaki Prefectural Police on Monday confirmed that the decayed body of a woman found inside a residence last week in Omura City is that of one of its occupants, 37-year-old Ayako Yamamoto, reports Nikkan Sports (Aug. 29).

On August 26 at around 12:35 p.m., the landlord used a passkey to enter the residence, located in the Honcho area, and found the decayed body of Yamamoto.

According to the Omura Police Station, the body did not exhibit any external wounds. Police did not find the interior of the residence to have been ransacked. The cause of death of Yamamoto is not known.

Yamamoto had been living in the residence with her husband, aged in his 50s, over the past few years. His whereabouts are unknown.

The landlord entered the premises after he was unable to contact the couple regarding several months of unpaid rent. He had already cancelled their contract was going to begin cleaning the residence for a new tenant.
