CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested an executive of a large housing company for allegedly assaulting a man who had accused him of taking illicit photographs in Funabashi City, reports Chiba TV (Aug. 26).

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Akio Ikeda, the 54-year-old head of the human resources department at housing fixture manufacturer Lixil, allegedly struck the head of the man, 51, in front of a ticket gate at JR Funabashi Station.

Just prior to the incident, the man had observed Ikeda using a concealed tablet computer to film up the skirt of a woman inside a train car. After the suspect exited the train, the man accosted the suspect.

Ikeda, who has been charged with assault, admits to the allegations. “After I was accused of taking voyeur photographs, I became upset,” the suspect told police.

After the incident, the suspect smashed the tablet computer on the ground.

Lixil is Japan’s largest manufacturer of interior fixtures for the home.
