TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly molesting a woman at an apartment building in Katsushika Ward last year, reports TV Asahi (Aug. 26).

On September 13, 2015 at around 1:00 a.m., Takeru Kunibu is alleged to have grabbed the woman, a vocational student aged in her 20s, inside an exterior stairwell and committed an obscene act after pushing her down.

Kunibu admits to the charges. “Being drunk, I wanted to touch her,” the suspect is quoted by police.

Kunibu surfaced as a person of interest after an analysis of security camera footage taken in the area.

Just prior to the incident, the suspect first observed the woman about 100 meters from the building. He then came up from behind her and covered her mouth before committing the alleged crime.
