Osaka cops arrest man after mother’s body found in home

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 44-year-old man following the discovery of the body of his mother inside the residence they share in Sakai City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Aug. 27).

At approximately 10:00 a.m., officers from the Minamisakai Police Station found the body of Hiroko Suzuki, 73, was found collapsed and bleeding near the entrance of the residence, located in the Shinhinoodai area of Minami Ward.

She was confirmed dead at the scene. A blood-stained knife was found near the body.

Police subsequently arrested Tomohisa Suzuki on murder charges. He was found with blood on his hands inside a room.

The suspect has declined to comment on the allegations.

Police entered the residence after a female neighbor said the elderly woman could not be located.
