KAGAWA (TR) – Kagawa Prefectural Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in a residence in Takamatsu City, reports Nikkan Sports (Aug. 14).

At around noon on Saturday, the body of Tomoka Kimura, a 42-year-old employee at a residential organization, was found collapsed near the entrance of her second-floor apartment by her sister. The woman’s wrists were both bound.

Officers from the Takamatsukita Police Station Police arriving at the scene determined the cause of death to be suffocation as a result of strangulation.

Kimura, who lives alone, was off from work on Friday. The day before she met with her parents. The younger sister visited the apartment after she could not reach Kimura by phone.

Since both the front door and windows were found to be locked, police believe that Kimura was murdered by a person with a key to the residence. Police are now examining security camera footage taken in the area.
