CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a male corpse on a beach in Choshi City, reports Chiba Nippo (July 29).
At approximately 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, a 67-year-old man out on a stroll found the body lying face-down on the rocky coast of the Nagasakimachi area. An acquaintance of the man then tipped off the Choshi Police Station about the discovery.
The heavy-set body, measuring 165 centimeters in height, was clothed in blue jeans, a short-sleeve shirt, a long-sleeve jacket and black sports shoes.
The person, who had two yellow billfolds in his possession, is believed to be between 50 and 70 years old. Due to the lack of decomposition, it is likely that the person died within the last few days.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the body and determine the cause of death.
