TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police suspect that a officer committed suicide on Sunday by jumping from a police station building in Shibuya Ward, reports Nippon News Network (July 24).

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the body of the man, a 37-year-old assistant inspector, was found collapased on the grounds of the Harajuku Police Station. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

No note or will was found at the scene. However, foot prints belonging to the inspector were discovered at a window for an auditorium on the ninth floor, which have led police to believe that the inspector intentionally took his own life by jumping.

The inspector was on duty at the time of the incident. According to personnel at the station, he had shown no signs of experiencing any problems.
