AICHI (TR) – Following the discovery last week of a body of a woman offshore of Mihama, police are now investigating a male corpse found on a beach in the same town, reports the Chunichi Shimbun (July 20).
At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a male company employee from Toyoake City who had gone fishing reported the discovery of the man’s body collapsed on the beach in the Okuda area.
According to officers from the Hirata Police Station, the body was clothed in a long-sleeve shirt, mesh vest and pants. He also was wearing shoes and gloves. The body did not contain any external injuries. Near the body, police found a hat and headlight.
Police are now attempting to identify the body and determine the cause of death.
On July 11, a sardine fisherman found a woman’s corpse in his net two kilometers offshore of the main wharf at Mihami harbor, according to Nikkan Sports (July 7). The woman, measuring 143 centimeters in height, is believed to have died within one week of her discovery.
