TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 34-year-old male restorer of cultural properties for repeatedly stalking a teenage idol, reports TBS News (July 15).

On five occasions between March and July, Yasuhiro Tsuji, a resident of Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, allegedly visited the residence of 18-year-old idol Yuka Iida, a former member of an all-girl group.

Tsuji, who has been charged with violating the Anti-Stalking Law, admits to the allegations. “Since I have romantic feelings for Iida-san, I pursued her,” the suspect is quoted by officers from the Kasai Police Station.

Iida attended meet-and-greet “handshake” events featuring Iida at least 70 times. After the suspect fondled her body at one such event in 2012, he received a warning from a lawyer for her agency.
