TOKYO (TR) – A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly selling DVDs containing child pornography in Itabashi Ward, Jiji Press reported (July 14).

Officers from the Kumanocho Police Station arrested Kazunori Shibuya, 53, for violating the Child Prostitution and Child Pornography Law by selling some 100,000 DVDs containing sexual content, like child pornography, over a five-year period resulting in profits of some 40 million yen.

Shibuya, who is unemployed, has admitted to the charges and told police he was selling child pornography to “make a living.”

Officers said Shibuya created DVD copies of child pornography and uncensored material at home, took orders online and then distributed them. Some 70,000 discs were seized from his residence, located in the ward’s Kumanocho area.

The suspect allegedly sold some 100,000 discs between January 2011 and April this year.
