TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday re-arrested a 27-year-old man suspected in a series of assaults of women who were forcibly kissed, reports TBS News (July 14).

On March at approximately 10:30 p.m., Kotaro Abe used a bicycle to come up from behind a woman, aged in her 20s, walking home on a road in Suginami Ward and pushed her to the ground. He then forcibly kissed her before fleeing the scene.

Abe, who has been charged with indecent assault, admits to the allegations. “I’ve done the same thing about 10 times in Tokyo over the past few years,” the suspect is quoted by police.

Police first arrested Abe for a similar case involving another woman in June in Higashikurume City, located in western Tokyo. An examination of security camera footage in the Suginami case then led investigators to consider him as a suspect in that case, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 13).
