TOKYO (TR) – A hotel in Minato Ward has announced the discovery last week of a tooth filling inside a dumpling dish served at a banquet hall, reports Nippon News Network (July 11).

On Friday, a silver tooth filling measuring one centimenter in diameter was found by a male customer in a gyoza dumping dish containing scallops that was served at a banquet hall at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa.

The dish was prepared by a foodstuff company in Yokohama. Standard practice then calls for it to be steamed by employees at the hotel. No employees at the company or the hotel have reported any missing dental work. The hotel is now considering whether someone intentionally inserted the filling into the dish.

Last week, restaurants and halls at the hotel served a total of 30 of the gyoza dishes. No other problems were reported.
