SHIGA (TR) – In a joint effort, law enforcement divisions in Shiga, Fukuoka and Saga prefectures have apprehended a 29-year-old man for eight sexual assaults, it was learned on Friday, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (July 9).
Katsuya Okuda has been sent to prosecutors over the rape and sexual assault of seven women, aged between 13 and 21, over a 14-month period ending in November of last year.
Okuda admits to the charges. “I did it to satisfy my sexual desire,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to the Sankei Shimbun (July 8).
The incidents came to light after Okuda was arrested in the molestation and attempted indecent assault of a woman, aged 18 at the time, on a road in Koka City, Shiga.
During the investigation, police linked the suspect to three other similar incidents in Shiga. As well, he was subsequently charged with rape in two cases in Saga and indecent assault in two cases in Fukuoka.
