TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the manager of a hostess club in Taito Ward for allegedly setting a subordinate employee on fire, reports Nippon News Network (July 10).

On Friday, Yusuke Yamada, the 32-year-old manager of Club Royal, located in the Nishi Asakusa area, allegedly used a lighter to ignite a 35-year-old male employee inside the parlor. The victim suffered serious burns throughout his body.

Yamada, who has been charged with assault inflicting injury, denies the allegations.

Police were alerted to the scene after a person entering the building found the victim collapsed on the floor and attired only in his underwear.

Police are investigating whether the suspect and victim had engaged in a work-related dispute.
