CHIBA (TR) – A man was re-arrested on Wednesday for disguising himself as a water inspector to enter a residence and molest a 16-year-old girl.

Chiba Prefectural Police arrested Natsuki Koinuma, 34, who is unemployed, on charges of indecent assault and burglary for allegedly dressing up as a water quality inspector to enter an apartment residence in Nagareyama City to molest a 16-year-old girl in junior high school on February 1, the Sankei Shimbun reports (June 29).

Koinuma admitted to entering the residence, but denied the indecent assault charges because he “never touched her body.”

Police originally arrested Koinuma on June 3 for a separate case in which he again posed as an inspector to enter a residence and molest a woman. The Chiba District Public Prosecutor’s Office indicted Koinuma on Friday over the incident.

According to TV Asahi, police are investigating whether Koinuma was behind a series of similar crimes that have taken place in the prefecture.
