KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Friday announced the arrest of former actor Noboru Takachi, 51, over the alleged possession of illegal drugs in a hotel room in Yokohama, reports TV Asahi (June 24).

Officers from the Kanto Narcotics Control Department found four grams of the stimulant drugs and two grams of marijuana in the possession of Takachi, the husband of actress Reiko Takashima, and bar hostess Atsuko Isokawa, 33, in a love hotel in Minami Ward.

Takachi, whose real name is Joji Osaki, admits to the allegations, telling police that the drugs were for his own use.

The results of a urine analysis of a sample provided by Takachi will determine whether police will apply drug use charges as well, according to the Sankei Shimbun (June 24).

Update: Police have also charged Takachi and Isokawa with the use of stimulant drugs, reports NHK (July 19).
