KANAGAWA (TR) – A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly going from city to city to stalk a woman in her 20s for over two months.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested a 56-year-old administrative worker of a city office in Miyamae Ward, Kawasaki, on suspicion of violating the Stalker Control Law for stalking a woman in her 20s between April 12 to June 17, the Sankei Shimbun reports (June 18).

According to the Himonya Police Station, the suspect is believed to have carried out a number of stalker-like acts on the woman across an unspecified number of cities and areas including Kawasaki City and in Tokyo’s Meguro Ward, including lying in wait for her to show up and following her around.

The Miyamae Ward city office said in a statement that it plans to “mete out strict punishment in the future once the facts are confirmed.”
