TOKYO (TR) – A former female clerk at two schools in Nerima Ward has admitted to embezzling more than seven million yen for recreational purposes, reports Fuji News Network (June 16).

According to the Nerima Board of Education, the woman, 49, embezzled approximately 7.1 million yen from a middle and primary school by earmarking the funds for school lunches and material fees on 65 occasions between September of 2012 and April of this year.

The woman admits to the allegations, telling the board of education that she “spent it all on pachinko.”

The board of education is now seeking to register a criminal complaint against the woman with police.
